Hydrocarbon
Hydrocarbons are a group of chemical compounds composed only of the elements hydrogen and carbon. These compounds are commonly used as fossil fuels and raw materials for the production of plastics, resins, rubber, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.
Hydrocarbons are divided into two main categories: saturated hydrocarbons and unsaturated hydrocarbons. Saturated hydrocarbons contain only single or multiple carbon-carbon bonds, while unsaturated hydrocarbons contain at least one carbon-carbon double bond.
